DIAGNOSIS, MONITORING AND REMEDIATION
Plots of land for construction are increasingly hard to come by and that is why they become more expensive with each passing year. However, some environmentally damaged areas, in theory unusable, can be used after the remediation of water and contaminated soil. These are common problems in industrial plants, gas stations and even deactivated dumpsites.
Estre offers solutions for the recuperation of these areas, in compliance with environmental legislation, to free them of contamination and make them safe again.
The services are divided into three phases: diagnosis, remediation and monitoring.
Diagnosis: preliminary evaluation, which effectively confirms that contamination exists. Next, a detailed evaluation is performed. In it, the types of contaminant present and the level of contamination is determined.
Remediation: this phase can be done in different ways, depending on the level of contamination and the contaminants. It can be done in place (in situ) or at another site (ex situ) using the following process types:
Biological: bioventilation, bioremediation, composting, land farming, etc.
Physical/chemical: oxidation and chemical reduction, electrokinetic separation, fracturing, washing, etc.
Thermal: inertization, vitrification, incineration, pyrolysis, etc.
Monitoring: regular analysis of soil, water and gases.
The Estre Group submits technical reports to environmental agencies and manages information using Monterey software, which the client can use to accompany online, in real time, well profiles, local lithology, as well as the evolution of contamination through horizontal plumes.
